꿈꾸는 자의 미래는 다르다...

바프의 창립 10주년을 위한 조촐한 기념파티를 기획하고
초대장을 보내는 일로 신년의 첫 주를 부산히 보내는데
초대장에 썼던 글이 새삼 마음에 와 닿는다.

꿈꾸는 자의 미래는 다를 것이라 믿으며 지나온 세월이 어느덧 십년...

홍대 앞의 옥탑 방에서 바프를 처음 시작하던 일이
바로 어제같기도 하고 아주 오래된 옛일같기도 한데,
달력상의 숫자가 말해주는 세월이 어느새 10년이라는 것이다.
사실, 세월에 의미를 둘 것은 없다.
어떻게 그 십년을 살아왔는지, 또 어떻게 앞으로의 십년을 보내게 될 것인지
그런 것들을 생각해보는 기회가 된다는 점에 의미를 둘 수 있을 것이다.
하지만, 십년 전의 미래였던 지금이 과연 그때 꿈꾸었던 미래일까...
생각하고 생각해도 그건 도무지 알 수가 없다.
그때 내가 꿈꾸었던 미래를 잘 기억할 수 없기 때문이기도 하지만
지금 이 순간이 정말 그 '미래'인지를 잘 알 수 없기 때문이다.
가까이 다가서서 본 미래는 어느새 '현실'로 변질되어 있고
내가 꿈꾸었던 '미래'는 또다시 저만치 멀어져 있다.
꿈꾸는 자의 미래는 분명 다를테지만
나는 아직 그 미래를 만나본 적이 없다.
그리고, 그 미래는 영원히 나를 앞서 가고 있을 것이다.
